MONTIRAS-FX

MONTIRAS-FX is a combined tablet medication that contains Fexofenadine 120mg and Montelukast 10mg. It is primarily used for allergic symptoms management, mainly allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny/blocked nose, watery and itchy eyes) and, occasionally, for mild, stable asthma or chronic allergic symptoms

Indications for its use 

This medicine is indicated to be used in following conditions 

• sneezing, 
• watery 
• itchy eyes
• runny or stuffy nose
• allergy symptoms triggered by pollen, dust,

Mechanisms of action 

Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that counteracts the effects of the histamine, that leads to allergic symptoms in your body. Fexofenadine works to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and watery eyes.

Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It stops the action of leukotrienes, which are chemicals that the body releases when you have an allergic reaction that can lead to increased airway Inflammation and mucus. By blocking leukotrienes, it diminishes nasal congestion and leads to easier breathing.

Dosages and administration 

The dosages are basically based on the prescription for the effective and full potential outcome, so it is recommended to take as per the doctor. Some of the common dosages are as follows: 

• For adults ,it is once daily with or without food.
• Must be taken at the same time daily. 
• Do not chew or break the tablet 
• Take it with water and swallow

This medication comes with some side effects that are adapted by the body but if they persist, then consult the doctor. Common side effects include:

• Headache, 
• nausea, 
• diarrhea,
